Dreamify News standards
How stories get onto Dreamify News, and how we keep them honest.
Draft, October 2026. These standards are under owner and legal review and may change.
Who writes Dreamify News
Dreamify does not employ reporters. Stories come from three kinds of contributors, and every story says which one wrote it: local businesses (through Dreamify for Business), creators in the Dreamify Creator Program, and partner outlets that send us their headlines through the Dreamify Partner Network.
Partner headlines link to the outlet that published them. The reporting, and responsibility for it, stays with that outlet.
Every story is reviewed first
Nothing appears on Dreamify News until our news desk has reviewed it. Reviewers check that the story is about a real, local subject, that it cites sources, that it is labelled honestly, and that it follows the Dreamify publishing rules.
A reviewer can approve a story, ask for changes, limit its reach and add a label, or remove it. Reviewers always cite the rule they applied.
Sourcing
Every story must cite at least one source link for its factual claims: an official notice, a public document, an original report, or the organiser’s own page. Sources are listed at the bottom of each story so readers can check them.
Claims we could not confirm are labelled “Unverified claim”. When credible sources disagree, the story is labelled “Disputed”.
Corrections
When a story gets a fact wrong, the publisher or our news desk adds a correction. Corrections are shown at the bottom of the story with the date, the story is labelled “Corrected”, and its updated time changes. Corrections are never deleted.
To report an error, use “Report this story” on any story. Reports go straight to our news desk.
Sponsorship and paid content
Businesses write about their own businesses, and we say so: business stories carry the business’s name in the byline.
If a story was paid for, sponsored, or made in a paid partnership, it is labelled “Sponsored” or “Paid partnership” on the story and in every list where it appears. Undisclosed paid content is removed.
AI use
Contributors may use AI to help draft a story, but a person must submit it and stands behind it. Stories that were partly written with AI are labelled “AI-generated”.
AI-generated images of real people or real events are not allowed as news photos.
Conflicts of interest
Contributors must disclose any relationship with the people, businesses or events they write about: ownership, employment, payment, gifts or free tickets. Paid relationships are labelled on the story; undisclosed conflicts are grounds for removal.
Dreamify itself may appear in stories, for example when an event is sold on Dreamify. Stories link to those Dreamify pages openly under “In this story”.
How stories are ordered
Stories are ordered by how recent they are, with a boost for stories about the city edition you are reading. Stories that were limited by our reviewers rank lower. Our news desk can pin a small number of “Top stories” for a city.
Nobody can pay to rank higher. Sponsored stories are ordered like any other story and are always labelled.
Contribute
Local businesses and Creator Program members can submit news. Local outlets can send headlines through the Dreamify Partner Network.
